There may be following reasons for connection problems
1) Check the time/date of your laptop/pc. It must be according to Indian Standard Time (IST) (i.e. GMT+5.30)
2) Check firewall in computer. Allow vidalia and tor in firewall
3) Check the proxy settings of your computer as well carefully
4) Do not use multiple Tor or Vidalia softwares
5) Download and install correct, proper vidalia bundle from DC or internet.
6) Remove other setup internet connections like Broaodband connection, dongle/modem connection to your computer. Because of this reason, Tor/Vidalia may not work in some computers immediately after holidays.
